Serbian international defensive midfielder Mirko Topic signed for Norwich on 3rd August 2025 after City abandoned interest in Silkeborg's Pelle Mattsson although Topic had been on Norwich's radar for over a year. The 24-year-old has signed a four-year deal with City, with the option of an additional 12 months.
City's sporting director Ben Knapper added: “Mirko brings a different profile to our midfield cohort and we’re delighted he’s joining Norwich City. We have been following him closely for over 18 months so we’re excited he’s finally here. He has an imposing, commanding stature, is a fantastic athlete and brings elite defensive attributes that will be invaluable for us. We’re convinced he’ll complement the rest of our squad really well and we’re all looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together with him, this season and beyond."
Topić is a native of Serbia's second-largest city, Novi Sad, which has been twinned with Norwich since 1989., He began his career with local club Vojvodina, working his way up to over a century of appearances for their first team before departing for Famalicão in Portugal in 2023. He made 113 appearances for the Vojvodina first team between 2019 and 2023. In 2020, he also picked up a Serbian Cup medal.
He has made 69 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese top tier side.
He made his full international debut against the USA in January 2023, just two weeks before his 22nd birthday.
