Norwich hoped to field promising Scottish youngster Martin Wood
(from Highland League side Rothes) in the Reserve clash with Barnet
on 16th November 1999. However international clearance from the
Scottish Football Association failed to come through and Martin
                was prohibited from playing.
Martin has since played for Motherwell, Peterhead (on loan),
Ross County and joined Montrose in the summer of 2003. His 110%
attitude quickly won him fans - and both the Directors Player
of the Year and Fans Favourite awards. In his two seasons at Links
Park, he also won the Montrose Review Shield. In 66 appearances
for the Gable Endies, playing both in midfield and up front, Wood
                bagged 9 goals.
He rejoined Peterhead in the summer of 2006 and returned to the
Highland League joining Keith FC in March 2007
