Hitchin Town defender Will Wright joined Norwich on trial in the summer of 2017 playing in the Under 23's pre-season victory at Kings Lynn on 12th July 2017 before joining them on tour in Germany later that month
Wright was a junior at Luton Town before joining Biggleswade United for the 2014/15 season. He moved to Hitchin for the 2015/16 but was loaned to Bedford Town and Barton Rovers.
When Norwich decided to take the trial no further, Will trialled with Colchester who offered him a two year contract on 18th August 2017.
On 25th July 2018, Will joined Dagenham & Redbridge on a season long loan. He made 34 appearances. Released by Colchester at the end of 2018/19, Will then signed for Dagenham on a one year contract on 19th June 2019. He had made a total of 68 appearances for the Daggers over two seasons before being released in May 2020 on the ending of his contract. He joined the Daggers on trial for pre-season training and impressed manager Daryl McMahon and his staff with how he has worked on the training ground. He then resigned for the club.
On 1st June 2022 he signed for Gillingham. He had made almost 150 games for Dagenham. Gillingham manager Neil Harris said "He is a player that has potential to improve and he adds versatility to our backline; he is comfortable as a right-back or right sided centre-half,"
On 1st August 2023 he transferred to Crawley for an undisclosed fee. He had made 46 appearances for Gillingham scoring twice.
On 19th May 2024 Will was part of the Crawley team that beat Crewe 2-0 at Wembley to secure promotion via the play-offs to League One. He had played 54 games that season, scoring four goals. He turned down a new contract offer from Crawley and signed for Swindon Town on 25th June 2024.
