Australian international striker David Zdrilic was linked
with a move to England from German side Unterhaching. Norwich
was suggested as a destination.

Bristol Rovers striker Nathan Ellington has supposedly
been watched by the Canaries who are said to be preparing a £1million
bid for him.

Toulouse striker Marc Libbra is to train with the Canaries
with the propsect of a permanent move after hs club were unable
to come to agreement with Hibs where he spent 2000/01 on loan.

Wolves midfielder Neil Emblen is expected to sign for Norwich
in a deal worth £600,000. The 30-year-old signed for Wolves originally
in July 1994 from Millwall before leaving for a seven-month spell
at Crystal Palace in 1997 before returning to Molineux. A versatile
player who can perform in a number of roles.

Celtic striker Tommy Johnston was linked with a move to
Norwich according to the back pages of the Glasgow media.

New Norwich shareholder Giovanni di Stefano wants former Middlesbrough
boss Bryan Robson and Yugoslav star Predrag Mijatovic
(Fiorentina) to lead the club into the Premiership. Di Stefano
wants to install Robson as director of sport to work closely with
Nigel Worthington, while he is also keen to bring Fiorentina striker
Mijatovic to Carrow Road. "We need someone like Mr Robson as a
director of sport and it is something that I intend to follow
up to try and get him, or somebody like him, who can take this
club into the Premier Division," said di Stefano. "There are players
from Italy who would jump at the chance of coming to play in the
First Division and I will be speaking to Predrag Mijatovic at
Fiorentina to see if he would consider a move to Norwich."

Carlisle striker Scott Dobie was linked by the media with
moves to WBA, Preston or Norwich. The latter being unlikely with
the almost completed signing of Mark Rivers.

Norwich confirmed that they had made a bid for Crewe attacker
Mark Rivers but that their bid was rejected as it didn't
match Crewe's £1million valuation. However talks are expected
to resume once the transfer seeking striker returns from holiday.

The Daily Express and Teamtalk
reported that Steve Bruce's first signing as Palace boss could
be Middlesboro's England Under 21 striker Andy Campbell
although he would face interest from Norwich for this player rated
at £500,000.

Speculation on the Norwich City Bulletin Board linked Norwich
with Leicester's midfielder Stuart Campbell who had impressed
against Norwich when on loan with Grimsby last season. .

Bury's Indian international midfielder Baichung Bhutia
was also suggested but this seems unlikely as Baichung was set
to leave Bury for a less demanding career in Singapore

Reports from the Southend press claim that 24 year old midfielder
Kevin Maher could head for Norwich on a Bosman Free although
Millwall, Colchester and Orient are all keen on the Shrimper's
player of the year.
