According to the Sun, Millwall central defender Darren Ward is joining the Canaries for a minimal fee in the summer. That will cause confusion. Other reports link former Watford player Ward with Sheffield United.

According to Planet Football, Manchester City are closing on the capture of Dutch winger Kiki Musampa.The Atletico Madrid star did not travel with the rest of the club's squad for their trip to face Malaga this weekend.His agents have fielded enquiries from a number of clubs including Norwich City and Benfica, but Mancester City have emerged as the player's preferred option.

Scottish media sources claim that Norwich City have emerged as the surprise favourites to land Aberdeen defender Phil McGuire. McGuire's agent John Viola today said: "Phil has come back into the Aberdeen team over the last few matches and has done really well. A few clubs have been to watch him recently and we are hopeful of getting something sorted out. All I know with regards to Norwich City is that they have asked for some details about Phil."

According to Football Rumours, Norwich are to sign Bristol Rovers striker Junior Agogo, Southend's Freddie Eastwood and Kevin Campbell on loan from Everton

According to Sky Sports, Norwich and West Brom are linked with Liverpool's young French talent Antony Le Tallec whilst one of the more bizarre transfer rumours of the season - that City could be about to pay over £1m for Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Shawky, currently playing for his country's top club Al-Ahly."Forget about that one," was the manager's succinct comment on the report on Sky Sports' website.

Football Rumours suggests that Louis Saha is coming to Carrow Road on loan from Manchester United, that Ashton is coming to Norwich in exchange for McVeigh and Brennan and £700k

Nigel Worthington admitted that he was interested in Dean Ashton and Darren Bent but later admitted it was unlikely Norwich could afford them.

According to the News of the World, Norwich are preparing a £1m bid for West Ham striker Marlon Harewood
The People report that Charlton offer Jonatan Johansson a new two-year contract but Norwich are interested in signing him.
In the Sunday Mirror, it reports Norwich boss Nigel Worthington is ready to make a £600,000 bid for Leicester striker James Scowcroft and that Premiership strugglers West Brom and Norwich are leading the chase for Ipswich's powerful striker Shefki Kuqi.

More speculation from Football Rumours - Norwich will look to tie up a loan move for Neil Mellor in Jan. As Baros will be fully fit, and Liverpool will have signed 1 or 2 new strikers
(Morientes and Anelka??), Mellor will be available and eager to develop into a premiership quality player. Norwich will also see if Redkanpp will loan Crouch to them again, and may even bid for Henchoz, but expect to miss out on him as Man City are interested. Norwich are also said to be interested in Jason Euell and Clinton Morrison

East Anglian rivals Norwich and Ipswich are keeping tabs on South African teenager Dean van Staden. Both clubs, along with Cambridge and Colchester, checked out the 6ft 4in
defender when he guested for Ridgeons League side Needham Market on Wednesday. The 19-year-old plays for the University of Pretoria in the Golden League, the second tier of football in South Africa.

Norwich City have been linked with Hungarian international midfielder Pal Dardai, according to reports in Germany. 28 year-old Dardai currently plays for Hertha Berlin in the German Premier League but has lost his place in the side recently. While he might still have three years left on his current contract, the defensive midfielder is not worried about moving if it means he can regain a first team place. "If I get such few opportunities to play as I do now then I'll move on next summer. I'm too young to be on the bench, I'd prefer play football at least two or three more years,"

According to the Football Rumours site, Nigel Worthington has been told he has only £1.3m to spend in January. He is buying: Darryl Duffy (Falkirk - £150k), Hassan Kachloul (Free Transfer), Leon Knight (Brighton - £600k), Alex Nyarko (Everton - £150k) and Silvio Maric (PAO - £400k).

Norwich are linked with Tottenham duo Dean Richards and Gary Doherty
Norwich were offered Australian centre-half Craig Moore by Rangers' boss Alex McLeish. "Alex McLeish spoke to me to see if I was interested," said Nigel Worthington.
"And I said 'Depending on the overall package'. And the overall package was too expensive for Norwich City Football Club."

The fact that Moore will miss the first month of the season as he jets off to Athens to play in the Australian Olympic team is unlikely to impress either. It also part explains McLeish's desire to offload the 6ft 1in former Crystal Palace stopper.

The Eastern Daily Press suggest that Nottingham Forest's former Ipswich striker David Johnson would be joining Norwich in a £3million deal. Nigel Worthington squashed this speculation stating that Norwich didn't have the resources to spend that sort of money on a single player

Norwich City have run the rule over Danish international Kenneth Perez, who is currently on Euro 2004 duty in Portugal. Sources in Scandinavia claim the Canaries had the 29-year-old winger watched during one of the Danes' warm-up games

The Canaries have also been linked with a second Scandinavian, Swedish midfielder Mikael Nilsson. The 25-year-old, who also plays largely on the right side, is currently
with Swedish top flight side Halmstads, but is believed to be looking for a move abroad.

Norwich are linked to Rangers' striker Steve MacLean. MacLean's potential switch to Norfolk was headline news in today's Scottish Sun. The free-scoring 21-year-old striker has been told he can leave Ibrox for a nominal fee as boss Alex McLeish turns his attentions to luring Everton's James McFadden north of the border. McLeish has already bagged Croatian international hit-man Dado Prso from Champions League finalists Monaco hence his willingness to offload MacLean. Sheffield Wednesday are reported to have already agreed the £100,000 asking fee for a player whose season-long loan spell at Scunthorpe United saw him finish as the Third Division's top scorer with 25 goals.

It is also reported that Norwich are lining up a swoop for a pair of villains. In addition to an alleged £400,000 bid for Villa's Peter Crouch. Norwich are said to have watched Villa's versatile defender Rob Edwards as he made his international debut for Wales against Canada. Formerly a centre-back, he found himelf stuck behind Swedish international Olof Mellberg and Villa's newly-acquired Danish star Martin Laursen as well as England Under-21 prospect Liam Ridgewell. Switching to right back, he found that manager David O'Leary now favours Ecuadorean Ulises De La Cruz in a straight contest with fellow full-back Mark Delaney,
