Reports in the Italian media on Monday afternoon claimed the Canaries are poised to open talks with Lazio over a possible £2m deal for the 29-year-old Lazio central defender Michael Ciani, who is contracted to the Roman giants until 2015. City signed Spanish defender Javier Garrido on a permanent deal last summer from the Biancocelesti after a successful season-long loan stint at Carrow Road and Lazio officials have apparently indicated they are ready to discuss a move for Ciani. Ciani has one cap for France.

Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia has reportedly turned down a £8.3m transfer to Norwich City. Italian football website Tutto Mercato claims that a deal for the 25-year-old centre-back, capped 15 times for Italy, was in the offing with a transfer fee of €10 million, around £8.3m. Ranocchia, who has played 74 times for Inter and stands at 6ft 4ins tall, was linked with a move to Chelsea in December and is out of contract with the Serie A side in the summer of 2015.

Norwich City is one of a number of clubs reportedly tracking Manchester United’s talented wide player Wilfried Zaha for a potential January window loan move. Sky Sports claimed on Monday 6th January that City along with top flight rivals Cardiff, Stoke and Swansea and two other clubs from outside the Premier League have all expressed an ‘interest’ in the 21-year-old who moved to Old Trafford from Crystal Palace in the summer for a reported £15m fee.

Norwich City are reported to be interested in signing out-of-favour Everton defender John Heitinga. The Daily Mail is touting the Canaries as being interested in Heitinga, but also claims Fulham, Newcastle and Roma maintain an interest in the defender.

Nonleaguedaily.com report that beleaguered Norwich City manager Chris Hughton is ready to stake his club's future, and his own, on FC Halifax Town striker Lee Gregory. Gregory, 25, has already hit 12 goals this season with the re-formed club, including four in his first four games, as they progress up the football pyramid in their first season in the fifth tier, the Skrill Conference Premier League. MK Dons are also supposed to be interested in the former Chester and Mansfield forward.

Reports suggest Norwich have enquired about Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld with a £6.9million fee agreed between the two sides with Alderweireld having just one year remaining on his contract.
On 12th July, Alderweiteld said that he would not rush into a decision about his future, especially with Liverpool and Tottenham reported to be interested in him.

Swedish football site fotbollskanalen.se claimed on Tuesday afternoon City had lodged a player-plus-cash bid for Blackburn’s Swedish international Martin Olsson who was heavily touted with a move to Carrow Road in the previous transfer window . Olsson’s agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, is quoted on the site suggesting Blackburn had received a firm bid from the Canaries and the defender is now poised to open talks over personal terms.

Dutch media sources report that Norwich have agreed a fee with PSV for Swedish attacker Nils Ola Toivonen. A £4.7m fee was reportedly agreed between the two clubs earlier in the week, leaving a possible move up to Toivonen and his agent to discuss. The 26-year-old forward has fallen out with his current club over failing to sign a new deal and with only a year left on his planned stay in the Eredivisie, PSV are looking to cash in.Fulham, Everton and West Bromwich Albion are also said to be interested in bringing Toivonen to England.
