Former Norwich City
schoolboy Jamie Forshaw joined Southend United's youth team and
won a call- to the Scotland Under-16 squad in August 2006.
After a loan spell during 2008/9 with Bishops Stortford, Forshaw
was one of seven players released by Southend on 11th May 2009
After a successful trial, Jamie signed for Ebbsfleet United on
29th July 2009 along with defender Jordan Collins, forward James
Lindie and winger Ishmael Welsh
Jamie spent some time at Ashford Town on loan earlier in the
2009/10 season before being released by Ebbsfleet in February
2010 after making 13 appearances for the Fleet, 11 of which had
come from the bench. On 9th February 2010, Jamie signed for Lowestoft
despite interest from Braintree. He made his debut that day in
a 2-1 win over Tilbury in the Championship Manager Cup.
On 8th June 2012, Forshaw signed for Kings Lynn Town, newly promoted
to the Southern League. He said Its a new exciting
challenge for me to come and play here. I know a few of the lads
and Kings Lynn are an ambitious club. They want to go higher
its the first thing the manager said to me
and its a good place to be. Its a big club and theres
700 plus fans at home games. Sam Gaughrans
come across with me. I know Jordan Yong
and Danny Beaumont was at Norwich with
me. I spoke to a few of them. Ive done my homework on Lynn
and the managers done his homework on me. Id like
to get some more first-team football. I really enjoyed myself
at Lowestoft. It was a good club, a good bunch of lads, and it
was tough to leave. Hopefully I can come here, play games, score
goals and show what I can do.Im at the period in my career
where I need to step on and go forward now. This is the right
place for me to be next season. If I can play as many games as
I can, score as many goals as I can, then hopefully I can step
on as Ive still got aspirations to get back into the full-time
game. I just want to get my head down and hopefully come that
first league game Ill be in the starting 11.
On 2nd November 2012, Forshaw joined Wroxham from Lynn
He moved to AFC Sudbury on 20th June 2013 but returned to Wroxham
at the end of July 2014.
By August 2016, Jamie had returned to Lowestoft. Released at the end of the 2016/17 season, Forshaw signed for Ryman League rival Dereham on 12th June 2017.
He subsequently played for Mulbarton Wanderers, spent the 2022/23 season at Sherringham before returning to Mulbarton for the 2023/24 campaign.
