Mark Fowler may
not be as famous as Chris Woods, Joe Corrigan or Kevin
Keelan. However the 17 year old keeper for Norfolk junior side
Harford Tornadoes and Anglian Combination team Sprowston Athletic
may become a star with a promising future. Mark was a Canary schoolboy
in a side run by Mike Sutton - father of Chris. He suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament
injury which forced him out of action for two years. He has returned
to action and has saved a number of penalties as the Tornadoes reached
the finals of the Anglia Auto Trader Floodlit Cup. His performances
have gained the attention of Dave Stringer and he had a trial with the Norwich City
A team during the 1996/97 season.
Mark later signed for Sprowston Athletic of the Anglian Combination
and was their player of the year in 1998/99. In the summer of 1999,
he joined ambitious Anglian Combination Premier Division side Cromer
replacing Robert Woodcock. Mark has also played for Wroxham's Reserve
team, where he obviously impressed as he signed permanently for
Wroxham in the summer of 2001
In the autumn of 2003, Mark returned to Cromer.
