Stuart Herd from
Stoke-on-Trent, but raised in Sherringham, was an Associate Schoolboy
with Norwich City at the start of the 1990s.Impressing for the East
Norfolk Under-15s, Norfolk County Under-15s and Under-18s and the
England Under-15s and Under-18s, he was invited to play for Norwich's
Under-15s and Under-16s. In the 1989/90 season, he made 21 appearances
as a left sided winger for the Norwich City youth side which also
featured
Jason Minett,
Lee Power,
Glyn Roberts ,
Chris Sutton and
Robert Ullathorne. According to the
Interlink Express Ultimate Book of Non-League Players"
Stuart "transferred to Torquay United in 1992 and made 7 league
appearances for the Devon side. Work commitments then restricted
him after being released but he joined Shepshed Dynamo towards the
start of the 1996/97 season. Stuart switched to Unibond (Northern)
League side Matlock Town in December 1996." He also played for Wroxham
before joining Shepshed Dynamo.
Stuart returned to Norfolk towards the end of 1998 and signed for
Anglian Combination outfit Thorpe Village and scored regularly in
his first games for them. Stuart has since joined Holt United.
