Biography

On 8th July 2025 Norwich completed the signing of Brondby’s highly-rated attacker Mathias Kvistgaarden with the 23-year-old signing a four year deal, with a further one year club option, for an undisclosed fee. Norwich took advantage of a £6.9m release clause in Kvistgaarden's contract with Brondby although the Danish club negotiated a 15% sell-on clause.

Kvistgaarten rejected interest from French side Lens who had made an £11million bid whilst Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham were also said to be interested. He can operate down the left or in the centre.

He began his playing career at hometown club IF Skjold Birkerod but at age 11 he had trials with both FC Nordsjaelland and Lyngby, chosing to join the latter in 2013. Two years later he transferred to the youth academy at Brondby. He made his debut for Brondby on 5th July 2020 with the squad impacted by Covid. He went on to play 125 games for Brondby scoring 47 goals.

He was capped by Denmark at Under-18 and Under-21 level, playing in the European Championships in June 2025 reaching the quarter finals. His first full international cap came against Northern Ireland in June 2025 which was won 2-1.
