Matthew Lewis joined Norwich from Manchester United as Senior Performance Analyst in June 2018. He had previously been a tactical analyst at Derby County.

In November 2023 he was moved to the role of Lead Positional Scout as the Canaries establish their switch from scouts focusing on specific locations to scouts focusing on positions. He becomes one of three lead positional scouts, with the department split into defenders, midfielders and attackers. The trio, which includes Kamil Nowak and Leonardo Scirpoli will team up with a parallel group of technical scouts, who will focus on video and data while the positional scouts specialise in live assessment.  Lewis will report to Head of Recruitment Lee Dunn.
