"He gives us other options up front," Norwich boss Johannes Hoff Thorup told BBC Radio Norfolk. "He can play as a 9, he can play as a 10, he can play a little bit on the left side. He has great intensity, a good pressing player, he loves to be involved, loves to be on the ball, wants to find good positions in the box to get in and score goals."
He made his debut for Norwich the following day as a late substitute in the 4-0 win over Hull City. He scored his first goal for Norwich in the 2-2 draw at West Brom on 23rd November 2024, followed by his second a week later against Luton in a 4-2 home win for City.
On 29th April 2025 Norwich triggered a one year extension in Marcondes' contract to keep him at Carrow Road for a further season. Ben Knapper said "Emi has made a great impact since arriving here back in the autumn. He’s contributed a lot and has become a key figure, both on and off the pitch. We’re pleased to secure him for another season and to continue working with him going forwards.”
At the end of June 2026 his representative, Antoni Alexandrakis, told Brazilian newspaper, Zero Hora, the attacking midfielder is interested in a potential South American switch after reports on 24th June 2025 that he is in top-flight side Gremio’s sights. He is a dual national, through his Brazilian mother, and would not take up an overseas player registration slot. Alexandrakis said “There is no negotiation. The English media reported that Gremio would be interested in acquiring Emiliano, and the Norwich president called me. I mentioned the player to Gremio,” he said. “He is an excellent player, and I don’t find it strange at all for Gremio to show interest in him, but so far there’s no negotiation. Emiliano’s name has been mentioned in Brazil several times. In fact, about four years ago Palmeiras was interested, but he didn’t want to leave England. I was also contacted by agents representing Corinthians, but he wasn’t interested in returning to Brazil."
