Newcastle Utd youngsters
Matthew Reed and
Jordan Tait played for Norwich's
Under 21 side in a friendly against Bristol City on 21st April 1999.
Both Tait and Reed were seeking new clubs although Matthew had been
an England Under-15 schoolboy international in 1995 playing alongside
the likes of Wes Brown, Michael Owen and Michael Ball
The November 1999 edition of
Team Talk magazine stated that
Matthew had signed for Dr Martens League side Chelmsford City. The
January edition told of his move to Billericay Town. Matthew later
played in Malta with Naxxar Lions but he hated every minute of it
according to the
Non League Paper of 2nd June 2002. He has
since retired from playing and is working as a scaffolder whilst
studying for a UEFA B coaching license.
