Northumbrian Keith Robson was signed by Norwich in February 1978
to provide Kevin Reeves with an experienced
partner upfront. He was eventually displaced by Justin Fashanu but not before he had managed 71 appearances
scoring 14 goals. He was sold to Leicester City in September 1981
where he made 9 league appearances. A loan spell at Carlisle in
March 1983 where he made 11 appearances scoring four goals occurred
before a return to the beauty and comfort of Norfolk. League football
with Carlisle where he spent a loan spell scoring four times in
11 games was not powerful enough to dispel the attractions of
life in Norfolk. Keith returned in 1983, after a brief spell in
Hong Kong witht he South China Athletic Association, and played
for Norwich Busmen and later with Wroxham where he became Assistant
Manager in 1993/94.
Prior to his spell at Carrow Road, Keith began his career at Newcastle
United making his debut against Chelsea aged 19. He scored 3 times
in 14 games. He joined West Ham for £60,000 in September
1974 and teammates at Upton Park included John McDowell , Graham Paddon and Alan Taylor. After 68 games in Claret and Blue, scoring
13 goals, he joined Cardiff City in July 1977. 5 goals in 21 games
prompted Norwich to spend £25,000 on his transfer.
Keith now works as a machinist in Norwich.
