Biography

Ghanaian international left back / midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp signed a one year deal with Norwich City on 24th July 2025 following the club's injury crisis which saw them head into the 2025/26 season with only Ben Chrisene fit at left-back,.and he had missed the end of the previous season.

Schlupp was born in Hamburg, Germany to Ghanaian parents and moved to Milton Keynes when he was young. He joined the Leicester City Academy and was given a squad number for the first time in the 2010/11 season. He made his league debut whilst at Brentford on a one month loan starting on 14th March 2021. After scoring twice on his first full appearance and again in the second, the loan was extended to the end of the season and he scored six goals in 10 appearances. He also played in the FA trophy Final defeat to Carlisle.

Returning to Leicester, he made his first appearance against Rotherham in the League Cup on 9th August 2011, scoring a hat-trick. He went on to play 150 games for Leicester, scoring 15 goals. He played 26 times as Leicester won the Premier League in 2015/16. In January 2013 he spent a week training with Manchester United, playing two Under-21 games. He won the Leicester Young Player of the Year award twice.

On 13th January 2017 he transferred to Crystal Palace for £12million and debuted the following day against West Ham. He played 247 games for Palace, scoring 19 goals.

On 3rd January 2025 he was loaned to Celtic for the remainder of the season and played 18 games as they won the Scottish title. He was released by Palace on 26th May 2025.

Although he was called up to a Germany Under-19 training camp in 2011, he did not play for them. He made his debut for Ghana against Gabon on 15th November 2011 and went on to win 20 caps, scoring once against Mauritius.
