Biography

Tony Springett played as substitute for Norwich's under-18s in their 3-0 defeat to West Ham on 24th February 2018. At the time he was a member of Norwich's Under-15s. He had joined the club at the age of 12

Tony is a member of Norwich's Under-18 swuad (and thus an academy scholar) for the 2018/19 season.

He was called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-18s in September 2019 for a tournament in Sweden.

Springett signed a new contract in December 2021 that will keep him at Carrow Road until 2025.

He was on the bench for Norwich's 0-0 draw with Brighton on 2nd April 2022. His debut came on 8th May 2022 when he came on as a half-time substitute for Milot Rashica in the 4-0 home defeat to West Ham. He ended the season with 3 appearances.

He signed a contract extension to 2026 on 13th October 2022 with the club retaining an option to extend it for a further year.

On 16th January 2023, he was loaned to Derby County for the remainder of the 2022/23 season. He had made 2 appearances for Norwich in the first half of the 2022/23 season. He made 10 appearances for the Rams before a shin ligament injury in training in April curtailed his season.

On 31st August 2023 he received his first call-up to the Ireland Under-21 squad, following some key play for Norwich's first team at the start of the 2023/24 season.

On 15th January 2024 he joined Northampton on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season. He had made 18 appearances for Norwich. The 21-year-old joins a Northampton team ninth in League One, but nine points outside the play-off places.

"Tony is an exciting, attacking player who can play in the wide positions," said Cobblers manager Jon Brady."He has played in the Premier League, the Championship and League One so has a good pedigree and good ability, and we believe he will fit in well in the excellent dressing room we have here." Springett scored his first senior goal on 20th February 2024 in a 2-2 draw with Oxford United. He came on as substitute in the 85th minute and scored in the 92nd.
