Richard Woodrow is a right-winger from Lowestoft who has also
played in central midfield. Richard was a Third Year Academy Scholar
at Carrow Road but the club announced in January 2003 that he
would not be offered a further contract at the end of the 2002/03
season.
In the meantime, he has signed for Norfolk's second side Kings
Lynn after their management team were impressed by his performance
for Norwich's reserves against Portsmouth. In June 2003, Richard
signed a one year contract with the Linnets. The Linnets went
on to win the Dr Martens Eastern Division with a 2-0 victory at
Fisher Athletic on 1st May 2004. Only a fringe player at Kings
Lynn, Richard switched to Lowestoft in June 2004.
Lowestoft won the Ridgeons League trophy on 29th April 2006 with
a 2-0 win over Needham Market with Woodrow scoring both goals
in the second half. Fellow ex-canaries Greg
Crane and Craig Lewis were also in
the squad
Woodrow scored twice in Lowestoft's FA Vase semi-final first
leg against Whitley Bay which the Suffolk side won 4-0. Although
they lost 3-0 in the second leg, the 4-2 aggregate win means that
Lowestoft will play at Wembley in the FA vse final on 11th May
2008. Unfortunately for Lowestoft, they lost 2-1 in the final
to Kirkham & Wesham
At the beginning of September 2011, Richard signed for Gorleston.
Greens' manager Richard Daniels said "People say that were
splashing out a lot of money but I can assure people that were
not. I think players can just see that were a club trying
to move forward. I think Richard will be a real asset to us as
well. Its not on loan either hes with us permanently.
