Norwich are linked with Brian Kidd and Martin Hunter as their new first team coach. Kidd, who played for Manchester United, worked under Alex Ferguson as Assistant Manager and later managed Blackburn Rovers and assisted Sven Goran Eriksson with the England side until he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Hunter is currently the England Under-19 coach who has also coached at Bradford City and Stoke City.

As Norwich have an offer accepted by Reading for Andy Hughes, Nigel Worthington admits his interest in Tottenham's Dean Marney. "Dean Marney is a player I admire greatly. I have spoken to Martin Jol at Spurs about the situation. The boy is currently part of their group out in Korea and Spurs will assess his situation when they come back. Then, and only then, will we find out if we can bring the player in on loan. We'll just have to see how that one develops. He is a very good young player, a neat and tidy footballer with a good work ethic which is important for anyone coming in to the team. He can play on the right of midfield, where he loves to run at people, and he can also play in the centre. It's nice to have one or two players in the group who have got a little bit of versatility about them. As I said I'd love to bring him here but at the moment I've just got to be patient and wait until Spurs come back from the Far East."
