On 14th August 2023 Norwich signed former Benfica youngster Guilherme Montóia.

The 19-year-old full-back will join the club's development sides after signing a two-year deal at Carrow Road with the club option of an additional year.

A product of the Benfica academy, Montóia progressed into their Under-23s, featuring in the Liga Revelação, as well as the UEFA Youth League.

Internationally, Montóia has made six appearances for Portugal at Under-20s level,

Montoia was included on the Norwich City first team bench for the Championship clashes with Plymouth (29th March 2024) and Leicester (1st April 2024)

Despite playing for the first team in pre-season friendlies in the summer of 2024, he was released by mutual consent on 22nd August 2024. Game time was limited after the signings of fellow left-back options Ben Chrisene and Callum Doyle. It was then decided behind the scenes at Colney that the 20-year-old was unlikely to break into the first team in future, and that he’d be allowed to depart in search of a clearer pathway elsewhere.

On 22nd October 2024 it was reported he had returned to Portugal to sign for top-flight side CF Estrela da Amadora
