Biography

After months of speculation, Norwich announced on 10th April 2020 that they had agreed a deal with Danel Sinani.

Sinani signed a pre-contract agreement with the club which will see him join the Canaries from Luxembourg side F91 Dudelange ahead of the 2020-21 campaign. The 23-year-old signed a three-year contract at Norwich

Born in Belgrade, Serbia, Sinani moved to Luxembourg at the age of five. The forward started his senior playing career at RFCU Luxembourg back in 2014, scoring 15 goals in 72 games, before joining F91 Dudelange in July 2017. He scored 30 goals in 61 games for Dedelange helping them win the league title twice and has scored in European competition against Sevilla and Olympiakos.

At international level, Sinani has made 21 senior appearances for Luxembourg, and scored three goals in their 2018-19 UEFA Nations League group.

Sinani said: “Norwich is a very big club with many good players. I will try to do my best and try to continue to hopefully score goals and to help the team to get in a high position. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Norwich City and I’m really excited to join you guys in the summer."

On 16th September 2020 it was reported that Sinani and teammate Melvin Sitti could be heading to Belgium on loan. Het Nieuwsblad, one of the best selling national newspapers in Belgium, claim that Juliper League side Waasland-Beveren are close to sealing the loan signings of French midfielder Melvin Sitti and Luxembourg international forward Danel Sinani. Beveren were playing in their ninth consecutive season in the top flight, after narrowly avoiding relegation in 2019/20. The loan was completed on 22nd September 2020 and Sinani made his debut on 26th September 2020 as substitute against Beerschot. Unfortunately Sinani's four goals could not prevent Waasland-Beveren from being relegated on 8th May 2021

On 28th July 2021 he joined Huddersfield on a season long loan with the option of a permanent transfer. Terriers boss Carlos Corberan said "He gives us real possibilities. He is a player with the versatility to play down the middle as a number 10, or on the right side.He has scored a lot of goals in different countries and now he has to show his ambition and level in the Championship." Sinani made his debut for Huddersfield on 1st August 2021 coming on as a late substitute in the EFL Cup game against Sheffield Wednesday and scoring in Huddersfield's 4-2 penalty shoot-out win.

Sinani started for Huddersfield in the Championship play-off final against Notts Forest on 29th May 2022 but was beaten 1-0 by Forest. Huddersfield then announced that they would not be activating the clause to buy him and so he returned to Norwich. He had played 47 games for Huddersfield, scoring seven goals.

Sinani made his Norwich debut on 30th July 2022 coming on as a 72nd minute substitute for Jacob Sorensen against Cardiff on the opening day of the 2022/23 Championship season. He scored his first Norwich goal in the Carabao Cup game with Birmingham on 9th August 2022 which finished 2-2 and then the Canaries won on penalties. The Birmingham cup game was also his full debut and he also assisted Jacob Sorensen for the other goal. Sinani also scored in the penalty shoot-out. His first league goal for Norwich was against Huddersfield on August 16th.

On 25th January 2023 it was reported that both Bimringham and Coventry had made enquiries to sign Sinani, whose contract expires at the end of the 2022/23 season. In the end he signed on loan for Wigan on 31st January 2023. He had played 18 first team games for Norwich, scoring twice.

Wigan were relegated from the Championship on 29th April after drawing 1-1 with Reading and other scores went against them.

Norwich announced on 5th May 2023 that Sinani would leave the club at the end of the season. He had played 18 games, scoring twice.

On 5th July 2023 Sinani signed for German second tier side St Pauli.
