Although
Norwich failed to score in their 2-0 defeat at Derby (who fielded former
Canary Marc Edworthy in defence),
other former Canaries were on the score sheet this weekend. Elsewhere in
the Championship, David Healy scored
Leeds' opener as they won 2-1 against Leicester to rise to third place in
the table. Topping the table are Reading whose Ivar
Ingimarsson has been regular in their starting eleven. Ade
Akinbiyi scored his thirteenth goal of the season as Burnley drew at
managerless Southampton. In the FA Cup 2nd Round, Paul Hayes scored Barnsley's goal in their 1-1 draw with Bradford. Chris Llewellyn's penalty for Hartlepool was only a consolation as they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat to non-league Tamworth. Jamie Cureton scored Colchester's first as they won 2-1 at Shrewsbury. On Friday night, Ali Gibb scored Bristol Rovers' goal in their 1-1 draw at Port Vale. In the Premiership, Peter Crouch scored his first goal for Liverpool, after 24 games without a goal, as they beat Wigan 3-0. The Latics fielded Damien Francis, Jimmy Bullard and Matt Jackson as substitute. Bobby Zamora scored on Monday night for West Ham against Birmingham. In Scotland, John Sutton scored for St Mirren in their 4-0 win at Ross County. Overseas, David Beckham was sent-off for the third time for Real Madrid in their clash with Getafe. |
