Aaron Osborne is
a goalkeeper from Cromer who played in a number of Norwich's friendlies
in the summer of 2001 including the first team clash with Fakenham.
Aaron became an Academy Scholar at Carrow Road in 2001. He was
named goalkeeper of the tournament in the prestigious international
Doetinchem Tournament where Norwich finished third in August 2002,
beating FC Copenhagen for third place. Other participants included
Anderlecht, Ajax and a USA representative side. He played for
the reserves during 2002/03.
At the end of November 2003, Norwich announced that they would not
be giving Aaron a professional contract. He joined Oxford United
on a two-week trial but by early December, was playing for Great
Yarmouth Town in the Ridgeons Football League. Yarmouth manager
Paul Tong said "He needs games to
maintian his form. I coached him as a youngster at Norwich and though
I have been criticised for playin ghim last week in view of the
big FA Vase match (Vs Cray Wanderers) coming up, I thought he was
worth having a look at, and I'm always looking to the future of
the club"
Aaron was invited to a trial with Bristol Rovers in February
2004 alongside fellow Academy players Greg
Crane, David Chick and David
Tyrie.
Aaron moved from the East Coast to West Norfolk on 15th June
2004 signing for Kings Lynn. He quickly declared that he would
be fighting for the Number One shirt against Stevie Wilson. In
November 2004, Aaron left Lynn to join North Norfolk side Cromer.
