Another player to be released at the end of the 1997/98 season
(see also Kori Davis , Joe Green, Rob Newman, John Polston, Jamie Shore, Gaven Tipple ). Karl
was an Associate Schoolboy with the Canaries but did not sign
trainee forms as he continued his education. He signed professional
forms in July 1993 and made his debut in September 1995 against
Torquay in the Coca Cola Cup. He was sent off on his debut. Injuries
and the form of Neil Adams have limited his opportunities and
so was released in May 1998 as an attempt to reduce the wage bill.
He had a trial with Northampton in hte summer of 1998 and was
offered a six month contract but suffered from hamstring injuries.
The May 1999 edition of Team Talk magazine revealed that
Karl had joined non-leaguers Hendon from Witney Town. The November
1999 edition of that magazine stated that Karl had since moved
on to join Worthing but no mention of this could be found on Worthing's
website. He later played for Hendon in 1999 and Croydon from 2000-2002
gaining promotion to Ryman Premier League. Karl also had a stint
as player manager and manager at Sinjun's Grammarians in the AFC
league in london.
Karl migrated to Australia in 2005 and now runs a personal training
business in Bondi, Sydney training players for sports conditioning
ironically!
